Our Programmes

We seek to bridge an important gap in the community social services landscape through our programmes, which are firmly science-based and outcome-driven. We act as an incubator – working with partners to pilot and rigorously evaluate evidence-based interventions specifically for the Singapore community, and scale and implement such interventions in Singapore that prove to be feasible and effective.

We conduct our programmes at The Lighthouse, a children and youth-centric hub located at Punggol West. The Lighthouse is designed to encourage wellbeing activities and has three zones – Family Cove for child-related activities, Pitstop for youth wellbeing and peer support activities, and Xpression for arts, photography, dance and public speaking activities.

You shine

You Shine is an after-school programme that fosters self-directed learning and social activities, helping youths build strong peer connections while developing socio-emotional regulation. Conducted in partnership with IJHCC, the programme runs from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and is open to children aged 7 and above.

YOU POWER+

You Power+ offers a unique Mentor Training Programme, equipping mentors with essential skillset to support mentees facing various challenges – academic, socio-emotional, and more. Mentors focus on befriending and building trusting relationships while adeptly handling mentees to overcome their challenges.

YOU SPARKLE

You Sparkle is a choir programme in collaboration with ComLink+ and Voices of Singapore, empowering children aged 7 to 14 through singing and performance. It fosters self-confidence, resilience, and well-being, providing a creative outlet for children while supporting parents seeking enriching activities. With 30 participants and another 30 in a control group, the programme also addresses the needs of children who return to empty homes, offering them a supportive and engaging community.

RESEARCH INITIATIVE

Survey: Singaporean parents believe playtime is important but there is a contradiction between their beliefs and actions.
Suncare SG conducted a national survey of over 1000 Singaporean parents with children aged 3 to 6 years old. It found that most parents believe playtime is important. Over 50% consider screen time a favourite play activity with their child, with 94.5% allowing device use on weekends. Despite this, 90% believe non-screen play is vital. This contradiction suggests a need to balance screen time with other play activities
